Austria has decided to issue coins illustrating famous people in its history, architecture. On the Austrian euro coins of small denomination depicts flowers, listed in the Red Book, as a sign of the care of the environment and the role of Austria in the EU environmental policy development. The projects were selected by the National Assembly and the public opinion survey.
