Microstates and the European Union

In Europe, there are several dwarf states. Because of their size, they are often closely related to other large countries. At the moment, European dwarf states have close ties with the European Union.

They are outside the European Union, some due to high membership prices or other reasons.

Andorra

Andorra since 1991 is a member of the customs union with the EU, although it is not the EU customs territory for the production of agriculture.

Monaco

Monaco is already applying some of the EU's political principles through special relations with the EU member state - France.
Monaco is a full member of the European Customs Union and the VAT zone.

San-Marino

San Marino has an open border (although not part of the Schengen agreement) and the customs union (since 2002, including agriculture) with the EU. San Marino also uses the euro and is allowed to mint its own coins

Vatican City

The Vatican officially minted its own euro coins. Since it is the smallest country of the euro coin minting coin, they can rarely be found.
