One euro coins the motif features a wild animal, the marten. Throughout Croatian history, the marten was a simbol of the origins of trade and goods exchange.

2 euro coins the motif of a geographical map of Croatia with the Croatian checkerboard on the upper right segment of the inner part (the core) of the coin. The bottom left segment of the inner part of the coin features the inscription HRVATSKA.
