In 2004, Estonia held a competition to choose the design of national sides of euro coins. For winning design voted 12.5 thousand. People (approx. 1% of the population).
On 20 July 2010, mass production of Estonian euro coins began in the Mint of Finland. 2012 coins were produced by the Royal Dutch Mint.

On all Estonian coins depicts the contours of Estonian borders. Above the image indicates the year of issue. Under the image - the inscription «EESTI» ( «Estonia").
