Lithuania Euro cents

The designs of the Lithuanian coins share a similar national side for all denominations, featuring the Vytis symbol.

Lithuania’s euro coins show the coat of arms of the Republic of Lithuania, Vytis. The image of the knight on horseback was first used in the 14th century. Beneath the coat of arms is the name of the country of issuance, “LIETUVA”. The coins were designed by the sculptor Antanas Žukauskas.

Modern coat Republic of Lithuania represents chervlony shield with silver rider in armor on a silver horse. In his right hand he is holding a warrior raised above his head a silver sword. In the left - azure shield with a golden six-pointed cross. Saddle, bridle and cinch azure. Sword, scabbard, bridle reins, stirrups, metal fasteners harness horse and spurs zolotye.Posle proclamation in 1990 Lithuania's independence, the coat of arms of the young state was adopted horse knight armed with a sword on a draft Lithuanian emblem, designed in 1925.
