A series of Vatican euro coins featuring the coat of arms of Pope Francis was issued from 2017 onwards.

Personal coat of arms of the Roman Pope Francis. The name of the issuing state «CITTA` DEL VATICANO» is divided into two parts, the main image. Lower Right - year of issue coins, the left - the sign of the mint (letter «R»).

After the abdication in February 2013 by the papacy of Benedict XVI next, 266th Pope, became Cardinal of Argentina , Jorge Mario Bergoglio (App. Of Jorge by Mario Bergoglio ). Pope Francis (Latin: Franciscus); born Jorge Mario Bergoglio, 17 December 1936 is the head of the Catholic Church, the bishop of Rome and sovereign of the Vatican City State. Francis is the first pope to be a member of the Society of Jesus, the first from the Americas, the first from the Southern Hemisphere, and the first pope from outside Europe since Gregory III, a Syrian who reigned in the 8th century.

Pope Benedict XVI (Latin: Benedictus XVI); born Joseph Aloisius Ratzinger; 16 April 1927 – 31 December 2022) was the head of the Catholic Church and sovereign of the Vatican City State from 19 April 2005 until his resignation on 28 February 2013. Benedict's election as pope occurred in the 2005 papal conclave that followed the death of Pope John Paul II. Benedict chose to be known as "Pope emeritus" upon his resignation, and he retained this title until his death in December 2022

Vatican euro coins John Paul II (2005-2006)

Following the death of Pope John Paul II in April 2005, Vatican City issued special coins during the period of Sede vacante depicting the emblem of the Apostolic Chamber (i.e. two crossed keys beneath an umbraculum, or umbrella) and the coat of arms of the Camerlengo of the Holy Roman Church.

Pope John Paul II (Latin: Ioannes Paulus II); born Karol Józef Wojtyła 18 May 1920 – 2 April 2005 was head of the Catholic Church and sovereign of the Vatican City State from 1978 until his death in 2005. He was later canonised as Pope Saint John Paul II.
