Flag of the Netherlands Antilllles

The Caribbean Netherlands are the three special municipalities of the Netherlands that are located in the Caribbean Sea. They consist of the islands of Bonaire, Sint Eustatius and Saba, although the term "Caribbean Netherlands" is sometimes used to refer to all of the islands in the Dutch Caribbean.

The coin is made of Aureate Bonded Steel and has a diameter of 26 millimeters. This coin weighs 14 grams. On the front side is an image of the King with the words ‘Willem-Alexander King of the Netherlands’. On the reverse side are the coat of arms of the Netherlands Antilles, the value of the coin: 5G and the words ‘The Netherlands Antilles’. At the bottom are the year, the mint mark and the mintmaster mark. This coin has a smooth edge with the words ‘God be with us’ on it.

2½-guilder

The coin is made of aureate bonded steel (ABS) and has a diameter of 28 millimeters. This coin weighs 9 grams. On the front side is an image of the Queen with the words ‘Queen of the Netherlands’. On the reverse side is the coat of arms of the Netherlands Antilles, the value of the coin: 2½G and the words ‘The Netherlands Antilles’. At the bottom are the year, the mint mark and the mintmaster mark. This coin has a smooth edge with the words ‘God be with us’ on it. This coin is also called a ‘rijksdaalder’ (two-and-a-half guilder coin).

On the front side are the words ‘Netherlands Antilles’ and a double circle with a fruit-bearing orange branch. On the reverse side is the value of the coin ‘50c’ within a beaded edge with shells and the year in which the coin was minted. This coin is square with corners that are cut round. This coin has a smooth edge. This coin is also called a ‘groot stuiver’ (big stiver).

On the front side are the words ‘Netherlands Antilles’ and a double circle with a fruit-bearing orange branch. On the reverse side is the value of the coin ‘25c’ within a beaded edge with shells and the year in which the coin was minted. The coin has a milled edge. The 25-cent coin is also known as a ‘kwartje’ (a quarter). Four 25-cent coins form a guilder.

On the front side are the words ‘Netherlands Antilles’ and a double circle with a fruit-bearing orange branch. On the reverse side is the value of the coin ‘10c’ within a beaded edge with shells and the year in which the coin was minted. The 10-cent coin is also known as a ‘dubbeltje’ (a dime). Ten 10-cent coins form a guilder.

Twenty 5-cent coins form a guilder.

NETHERLANDS ANTILLES

The Netherlands Antillean guilder is the currency of Curaçao and Sint Maarten, which until 2010 formed the Netherlands Antilles along with Bonaire, Saba, and Sint Eustatius. It is subdivided into 100 cents. The guilder was replaced by the United States dollar on 1 January 2011 on Bonaire, Saba and Sint Eustatius.
